Which shape are your stairs?

Pick your stair shape, enter a few measurements and watch the lift ride your staircase. The fit check explains what fits and why, with prices and grants for your country.

How to use the planner

  1. Choose the shape of your stairs: straight, with a landing, L-shaped, U-shaped, with winders, curved or spiral.
  2. Measure: count the steps, measure one step's height and depth and the narrowest width. Your phone can read the stair angle for you (measuring help).
  3. Top and bottom: how much room there is at the top landing and in front of the bottom step, and whether a door is close.
  4. Who will use it: weight, height and how the person moves (walks, can't bend the knees, uses a wheelchair, needs a carer).
  5. See the result: every lift type with "fits", "fits with options", "needs a survey" or "not suitable", the reasons, typical prices for your country and the grants you may get.

What the 3D view shows

  • Your staircase at real size, with the rail on the side you chose.
  • The lift riding up at a realistic speed, swivelling at the top so the rider can step off safely.
  • A person for scale, the parked and folded position, and the key measurements.
  • Views from the top, the side and riding along, plus augmented reality on your phone to see the lift in your own hallway.

Good to know

  • Every result is an estimate. A survey by the installer is free with most companies and confirms the details.
  • Your plan stays in your browser until you save or share it. Saving creates a private link without sign-up.
  • If your stairs are very narrow, steep or spiral, the planner also shows home lifts and stair climbers.

Frequently asked questions

Which measurements do I need?

The number of steps, the height and depth of one step, the narrowest stair width, the free space at the top and bottom, and the user's weight. For turning stairs, also the number of steps before the turn.

Does the planner work on a phone?

Yes. The planner works on phones, tablets and computers, and on phones it can measure the stair angle with the motion sensor.

Is the price in the planner a quote?

No. It is the typical range for your country from named sources. Only an installer's survey gives a binding price.

Can I share the plan with my family?

Yes. Save the plan to get a private link you can send to your family, and print a one-page summary.
