Reconditioned stairlifts
A reconditioned stairlift is a used lift that a company has checked, repaired and fitted with new parts where needed, then installs on your stairs with a warranty. It is mostly an option for straight stairs.

Reconditioned vs used
- Reconditioned by a stairlift company: tested, worn parts replaced, a warranty and installation included.
- Used, privately bought: cheaper but without checks, and the rail may not fit your stairs; installation and safety are your risk.
Why mostly straight stairs?
A straight rail can be shortened to fit another staircase. A curved rail is shaped for one staircase, so curved lifts are rarely reused without a new rail.
